Fishing With Ultralight Lures on a Medium Fast Action Spinning Setup
Today I’m fishing with ultralight lures on a medium fast action spinning setup. Since I am using 6 lb test mono, I can get away with fishing these small lures. The fast action on the rod gives me a good twitch for presentation. The medium backbone helps for better hooksets! I like this setup because it sits between ultra light and medium heavy. I can fish a heavier ned rig, or a small 1 gram jig like this. I catch some big bluegill, a small bass, and a variety of smaller bluegill too. I catch them on both artificial minnows and worms, but the minnows did better on the ultralight rig today.
